Junior Achievers, giant dreams

As a member of Junior Achievement you're not a future businessperson but a present one.

That was never more evident than at yesterday's 28th Booth Exhibit at which 19 teams of young entrepreneurs hawked their wares with the added pride of having developed them.

"It's to give them product business and over-the-counter training as well as overall practical hands on experience," said Delano Munro, program manager for the organization dedicated to encouraging the business spirit in young people.

Not only do the teams of about 40 students each offer up a product - everything from a ball meant to relieve stress to flash drives worn as brackets - they must then perfect the patter of the salesman.

Rachando Gibson from Team VENGEANCE seemed to have it down pat as he took his turn at selling educational CDs focused on Bahamian leaders, past and present.
