I have written many articles in the past, about using our imagination in order to become successful in everything, which we undertake. So many great writers and teachers have told us repeatedly, that we can become what we imagine. But how about taking this process of imagination to a whole new level. Instead of just using our imagination to assist us personally, why not use it positively to change the whole world. Surely the same principle applies, when we simply broaden its application.
If we can become what we can imagine; likewise, the world can become a much better place, by all of us imagining the type of world we'd really like to live in. What got me to thinking about this whole exciting subject, was listening to The Nobel Peace Prize Committee's concert on television. At the conclusion, some of the world's top entertainers gathered on stage and sung John Lennon's beautiful song 'Imagine', which actually brought tears to my eyes.
Here's the words of the song "Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try, no hell below us, above us only sky, imagine all the people living for today...Imagine there's no countries, it isn't hard to do, nothing to kill or die for, no religion too, imagine all the people living life in peace...Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can, no need for greed or hunger, a brotherhood of man, imagine all the people sharing all the world...You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one, I hope some day you'll join us, and the world will live as one."
My Oh My, what a beautiful song, what magnificent words, which inspire and lift us up, up into contemplating a perfect world, where we are ALL living as ONE. Isn't this what we really are, ALL brothers and sisters in the ONE Universal Family? Yes it is, and it's about time, that we started to live as if we were ALL ONE great big family.
Now, let's ponder some of the things which John Lennon put forth in his magnificent song. Imagine there's no heaven, no hell below us. Well I believe, that most thinking people have already eradicated the myth of heaven and hell from their consciousness. As I stated in another article some time back, to me heaven and hell are simply States of Consciousness, and not physical places, which are either up or down.
Next John asked us to imagine no countries, in other words, no national boundaries; and here's the really exciting concept to me, no religion. Boy, what a simply wonderful and indeed peaceful world we'd have without countries and religion. Nationalism and religion are in fact the cause of much of the world's hatred, they are presently accountable for millions of people being killed and maimed around the world. I'm quite definitely for a world without borders, a world full of truly spiritual people, devoid of the divisiveness of religion.
Finally John Lennon said, imagine no possessions, but just the brotherhood of man, all sharing what we've got with others. This of course would be Utopia. Could the peoples of the world ever achieve this 'Utopian Dream'? Well, I believe that everything is possible. If everyone would just imagine a perfect world, and then work together in unison to make it a reality. It will, it simply MUST happen one day...but when?
THINK ABOUT IT!
