    New restaurant on Atlantis' menu

By INDERIA SAUNDERS ~ Guardian Business Reporter ~ Inderia@nasguard.com:

Atlantis plans to open the shutters on its buffet style Seagrapes restaurant, in a bid to give diners more choice of cuisine and cost at the resort.

The December 21 opening, said Kerzner spokesman Ed Fields, will also go a long way in adding an extra level of excitement to one of its oldest towers.

"It's a huge boost for the life and energy of the Beach tower," he told Guardian Business. "This also helps with the value segment, which appeals to our largest demographic."

Fields asserts the Seagrapes restaurant offers its guests a new concept as well as more choices to the mix from the property's other buffet restaurant, Mosaic and Marketplace.

They are choices likely centered around the price, with the cost of the average dinner at Seagrapes summing up around 17 percent cheaper than Marketplace and 35 percent less than Mosaic.

President and Managing Director of Kerzner International Bahamas George Markantonis previously announced that 140 people will be hired at the Seagrapes Restaurant.

According to Fields, the restaurant was closed previously because it was in "an unsatisfactory condition".

"We did not want our guests to be exposed to a less than pleasant experience," he added, "so we closed it until we could complete a total and thorough remodeling."
