Whenever wedding rolls around everyone involved from the bride down to the most insignificant guest wants to make a big impression. After all, it's supposed to be a once in a life time occasion and no one wants to be caught looking frumpy and dumpy in those anniversary photos.

Janaee's - a one stop enterprise for weddings - promises to alleviate at least some of the stresses of a wedding for their clients by providing first class service. The company offers catering, a florist, chauffeur and many more services that are wedding-related. According to Mrs Wallace if you do not have a wedding coordinator Janaee's is the perfect place for you.

Janaee's is located on East Street (two doors south of Andros Avenue) and is owned by Martha Wallace, who has spent 11 years honing her business into what is now a well-oiled machine. Mrs Wallace said that at first she tried to work from home but after people who knew of her skills started calling her in the wee hours of the morning, she decided to find another place from which to operate. "The house was becoming the business and so I never got away from the business," she said. After finding a location from which to operate she named the store after her youngest daughter whom she said at 12 has the mind of an entrepreneur. Mrs Wallace stated that she wants people to look good at an affordable price. With this in mind she offers a wide variety of garments for the client with money to spend as well as the client who may not have too much to spend on a dress. The store caters to men and women. Mrs Wallace is currently rebuilding her inventory for kid's apparel.

At Janaee's the client can order a ready-made outfit or provide their own design. Either way Mrs Wallace and her well trained staff treat each client with the utmost care.

Everything that is required of the company by the client is documented and signed. The signature is one that guarantees that the client is one hundred percent covered. "If we do not stand by what we have outlined in the document our client can sue us," Mrs Wallace said. She added that Bahamians have settled for so little for so long that she feels that they should have more say about the services that they receive. She recounted horror stories from clients of having ordered clothing the year before their wedding and still did not receive their outfit in time for their wedding.

As soon as the deposit is paid, Mrs Wallace ensures that her staff orders the garments if they do not have the outfits at the store. "Let the clothes sit here in my company -not somewhere in Miami or wherever," she said.

She mentioned too that when the garments arrive in her store they are altered if necessary, and also dry cleaned.

In cases where Mrs Wallace has made mistakes, she goes the extra mile to quickly correct them, even if it means paying additional charges to get the clothes to the client. "A lot of us need to change our way of doing business. Once you have made a commitment to a customer you need to see it through to the end," said Mrs Wallace.
