CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank is a “gold” sponsor and also the second-largest sponsor of the 2012 CARIFTA Swimming Championships to be held in The Bahamas from April 12 to 15. The four-day event is scheduled to take place at Betty Kelly Kenning Swim Complex. As 2012 is an Olympic year, the championships have been officially sanctioned as an Olympic qualifying meet. “We are in business to help clients achieve what matters to them and as an extension of this, we are focused on creating a value culture for clients, employees and the community. We are very proud and honored to be a part of this historic CARIFTA Swimming Championships this year because it is the first time it is being hosted in The Bahamas,” said CIBC FirstCaribbean’s Managing Director Marie Rodland-Allen in a release. “The fact that it is an Olympic year makes it even more special. We also know that our contribution helps the Bahamas Swimming Federation to defray the cost of hosting this significant event. In addition, this is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate our support of the Caribbean’s swim teams as they strive to achieve their best and to represent their respective countries at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.” Tying it all together, the winners of the Go Visa London 2012 Cards Promotion, currently underway at CIBC FirstCaribbean, will get the opportunity to support their fellow Bahamian Olympic swimmers in London, England. Included in the winner’s prize is a round trip for two to the London 2012 Olympic Games. The competition runs until May 31, 2012. The event is scheduled to host members of over 20 swimming federations around the Caribbean, with athletes in the 11 to 17 age group vying for top honors.
