A teenager charged with murder and escaping lawful custody has been remanded into custody. Police captured the 17-year-old on July 13 after he fled the Princess Margaret Hospital on June 28, although two officers were assigned to watch him. The teenager of East Street South and Peardale is accused of the June 25 stabbing death of Javon Mullings at Union Village. The teen was not required to enter a plea to the murder charge when he made his initial appearance before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez yesterday. However, he denied the escape charge. He makes his next court appearance on November 28 when his case is expected to be committed to Supreme Court for trial.
