Prosecutors filed additional charges against Stephen “Die” Stubbs on Wednesday.

They say he played a part in the September 15, 2011 murders of Gamacio Jones and Clayton Daniel Smith.

Both men were shot in the head as they pulled up outside a house on Roland Street in Ridgeland Park.

Stubbs, 37, of Roland Street, Ridgeland Park, is accused of aiding and abetting their murders. Another man, Giovanni Roberts, was charged on Monday with abetting those murders.

Stubbs did not have to enter a plea to the allegations during an arraignment before Magistrate Guillimina Archer.

Franklyn Williams, the deputy director of public prosecutions, said a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI) which will send the case to the Supreme Court would be ready on September 24.

Meanwhile, the prosecution sought a second adjournment for the presentation of a VBI in another murder abetment charge against Stubbs.

He is accused of aiding and abetting the August 21, 2009 shooting death of Delano Morris at Brougham Street.

The VBI in that case is now expected to be presented on August 8. Prosecutors have obtained anonymity orders in both cases to protect the identities of civilian witnesses.

Nathan Smith, of the firm of Murrio Ducille, appeared for Stubbs.

Stubbs, who does not have any convictions, is seeking bail for the Morris case. Justice Roy Jones is expected to hear further arguments in the bail hearing on July 30.

Stubbs was brought to court by a personal security detail of DEU officers.
