74-yr-old man charged with sex with teen

A man appeared in the Supreme Court yesterday accused of having sex with a girl who could be his granddaughter.

Prosecutors say Garnet Dorsett, 74, had relations with a 13-year-old between August 1 to 31, 2010.

Dorsett pleaded not guilty to the charge of unlawful sexual intercourse at an arraignment before Senior Supreme Court Justice Jon Isaacs.

Dorsett, who is represented by Alfred Williams, will be tried on the allegation on October 7, 2013 before Justice Roy Jones.

Donnie Saunders, 26, appeared before the same court on a rape charge.

He pleaded not guilty to having non-consensual sex with a woman on January 14, 2012.

Saunders will be tried on the allegation on February 10, 2014, more than two years after the crime occurred.
