For the first time in history a female Bahamian swimmer made it to an Olympic final.
Twenty two year old Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace swam the women's 50m Freestyle Final in 24.69 seconds.
Vanderpool-Wallace touched the wall in eighth, a mere +0.64 seconds from the winner, Ranomi Kromowidjojo of Netherlands.
