Prosecutors closed their case against a man accused of robbing two women almost immediately after they opened it. Franklyn Edgecombe, whose street name is Chili, was charged with robbing two women at gunpoint and getting away with a combined total of $95 and a phone valued at $299 on June 11, 2004. Yesterday, his alleged victims told Justice Roy Jones that they were not interested in proceeding with their complaints. Anthony Delaney, the prosecutor, offered no further evidence against Edgecombe as a result of the witnesses’ position. Jones directed the impanelled jury to acquit Edgecombe of the charges. Raymond Rolle represented Edgecombe. |
