It’s going to be a rain or shine event with The Vice Versa Band, Jazz Etcetera, The Kim Welcome Band and the G-Notes all coming together for the grand finale performance of the summer event known as Jazz at Jacaranda. An event that allowed you to indulge in an evening of live jazz, poolside at Jacaranda House for eight consecutive Sundays. And on Sunday, August 12, jazz lovers will get your last chance to view some of the country’s best jazz acts. "This last concert is going to be stellar,” said event organizer Naomi Taylor. “It will feature all the persons in the last eight weeks of the concert coming together to play on the same stage. It's going to be a major jam and blow out session with literally all of the top jazz artists in the country." For those people who may have missed an evening or two, the finale provides the perfect opportunity to view all of the acts from the past weeks and to hear the music of up-and-coming talented jazz artists Anya Bowe, Odain Moss and Osano Neely. The final concert will also boast an entire rhythm section that will keep the music going all night long in alto saxophonists Tino Richardson and Lamont Gibson, tenor saxophonist Dion Turnquest along with trombonist Teddy Russell and bassist Adrian D'Aguilar. "It’s going to be a packed show we have for the last Sunday in the summer session. We are expecting a lot of high energy and just a general relaxing good time," said Taylor. "There are going to be some new voices not heard before performing at the concert as well," said Taylor. According to her talented jazz vocalists Anya Bowe, Odain Moss and Osano Neely will be breaking ground on the stage which promises to be a new and exciting experience for the audience. "We have a highly charged group waiting to take the stage this weekend with some awesome solos and just top notch in the line of jazz,” she said. Even though musicians are the headliners of the event, contemporary dance performer, Franklyn Donaldson, will be added into the mix to bring a contemporary flavor to the evening. According to Taylor, Sunday evening’s finale will top all of the Sunday performances leading up to the final day. "Jazz is all about spontaneous improvisation and expression through music right on the spot, and I think that's what's going to be exciting about this performance, the musicians are excited to have a venue and opportunity to play,” she said. Set in the lush gardens of Jacaranda House, the historical atmosphere and the smooth lyrical sounds make for a fun, interactive and cool way to spend Sunday evening. The Jazz at Jacaranda series is a platform for the upcoming "Eleuthera All That Jazz Festival" scheduled for March 22-24, 2013, and many of the musicians featured over the past eight weeks will participate in that event.
