Thanks to the men’s 4 by 400 meter relay team of Chris Brown, Demtrius Pinder, Michael Mathieu and Ramon Miller, The Bahamas won gold.

In an amazing performance starting out of lane 6 this afternoon, the quartet ran down the competition for the win.

The team fought hard the entire way going head to head with team USA for most of the race.

It was Ramon Miller, the anchor leg, that ran down the last leg of the relay in the last few metres for the win.

The team clocked in at a time of 2:56.72 seconds setting a new national record as well.

The gold is the first and only medal for The Bahamas in the 2012 London Olympic games.

Silver medal went to the United States while Trinidad placed third winning the bronze medal.
