FREEPORT, Grand Bahama - The death of a man who was found with a bullet wound to the chest on Monday afternoon remains shrouded in mystery. Police have not yet released the identity of the deceased, but The Freeport News has learned that the victim’s name is Jack Pfeiffer. According to police, the man’s death is still unclassified because officers are unclear of the circumstances surrounding his death. At this point, there is no word if his death was the result of suicide or if it will be added to the list of homicides on the island for the year. According to police reports, the man was found sitting in a chair in his home in the upscale Fortune Bay community, dead from a fatal gunshot wound. Officers received a call sometime around 12:30 p.m. on Monday notifying them that the man’s lifeless body had been discovered. When officers arrived at the home they discovered the body. Emergency medical services (EMS) personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. Police are actively investigating this latest shooting incident. They are expected to provide an official identification pending the results of an autopsy. |
