ELEUTHERA – A man who was involved in an accident on Eleuthera in March died in hospital on Monday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Dequante Stubbs, 19, of Gregory Town.
Police said Stubbs was the front seat passenger of a champagne Honda Accord that was traveling north on Queen’s Highway when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, and collided into a casuarina tree.
Police said both Stubbs and the driver received serious injuries and were taken to the local clinic for medical assistance.
They were later airlifted to New Providence for further treatment.
The driver’s condition was unclear at that time.
The rear seat passengers also involved in the accident were not injured.
Stubbs’ death came days after another Gregory Town resident was killed on that same road.
Orbin Etienne, 25, was killed after the truck he was riding in smashed into a tree.
There have been 26 traffic fatalities so far this year.
