Three shootings in less than 24 hours

Police reported yesterday that three separate shootings happened in less than 24 hours on New Providence.

The first incident happened around 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Marshall Road.

Police said a 20-year-old Bellot Road resident got into an altercation with a man known to him.

As a result the suspect, who is now in police custody, shot the victim in the leg, according to police.

The second incident happened around 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday at Goggle Eye Road, off Soldier Road.

Police said the 21-year-old victim was walking on the road when he was accosted and shot by a man driving a champagne-colored Toyota hatchback car.

The victim was taken to hospital where he was detained in stable condition.

The third incident happened yesterday around 2:20 p.m. in Ridgeland Park.

Police said the victim, 20, was walking in the area when a Jeep Cherokee pulled up next to him.

The occupants of the jeep then shot the victim and sped off, according to police.

The victim was taken to hospital where his condition is unknown.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call police.
