Team Bahamas got off to a blazing start at this year’s CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championships, a qualifier for the 2013 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, with a 9-1 drubbing of Puerto Rico yesterday.  The team will play Guatemala this afternoon, at 3:45 p.m. at the Malcolm Park Beach Soccer and Futsal Facility near the foot of the Sir Sidney Poitier Bridge, and they will face the United States on Friday in their third and final round-robin match. Only the top two teams from the 11-team tournament will qualify for the 2013 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, from September 18-28, at To'ata Stadium in Papeete, Tahiti.
