A Supreme Court jury on Thursday acquitted a man accused of armed robbery, burglary and receiving.

Prosecutors alleged that Audley Ward, of Price Street, Nassau Village, and others broke into the home of Carmel Williams and robbed her of a 2008 Honda Accord, jewelry and a digital camera, with a combined value of $19,800, on July 3, 2011.

Williams testified that she was awoken by masked gunmen who robbed her.  Williams could not identify the robbers.

Police found Dominic Thompson with Williams’ car on July 14.  He pleaded guilty to the receiving charge on Monday and was sentenced to four years in prison.

Ward was represented by Bernard Ferguson and Jillian Williams appeared for the prosecution.
