The dazzling evening gowns were put on display. Now, the contestants in the Miss Teen Bahamas International (MTBI) Evening Gown and Fashion Couture competition will have to await the pageant finale on Sunday, May 12, at the Rainforest Theatre at the Wyndham Nassau Resort and Crystal Palace Casino, to find out who took the win.

And determining a winner was stiff competition, as the audience was entranced with each contestant that stepped onto the red carpet for their walk during the show that took place at the El Greco Beach Hotel, on West Bay Street.

“Putting the life and excitement back into pageantry is what we’re all about,” said MTBI executive director Anthony Smith. “People use to attend these types of events because they knew that no matter what, the event was going to be memorable and entertaining, but as time went on and license holders changed, it became apparent that something got lost during the transition. Our pageant and the variety of activities is always designed so that our guests can engage and hopefully we encourage more young ladies to enter the competition.”

The final event to the crowning of the new MTBI begins 8 p.m. Tickets are available at J-Line Fitness (opposite the Shirley Street Shopping Plaza) or at BCBG, Cable Beach (near Sbarro).
