A judge on Wednesday granted bail to a suspect in last year’s armed robbery at the Atlantis Resort.

Justice Bernard Turner set bail at $15,000 for Tarico Bethel until his trial on the allegation.

Bethel is accused of robbing Sharon Thompson of $106,260.10, the property of the resort, on September 23, 2012.

Bandits tried to rob a cashier's cage in the casino of the Atlantis mega-resort after flooding it with pepper spray, according to a statement from Kerzner International Bahamas Ltd., which manages the resort.

Resort officials said the robbery attempt was not visible to casino patrons. It occurred in an employee-only area behind the kiosks where people collect winnings.
