A man was charged yesterday with the March 21 murder of Shervin Holbert.
Neville Woodside, 26, was arraigned before Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis.
He was not required to enter a plea.
Rolle-Davis said the question of bail did not arise. He remanded Woodside to Her Majesty’s Prisons.
Holbert, 38, of Derby Road, Yellow Elder Gardens, was shot in the head and killed after he picked up his take-out order from a Chinese restaurant on Baillou Hill Road around 8 p.m, police said.
Police said after purchasing the food, Holbert went and sat in his car and before he was able to drive away, he was accosted and killed.
The matter was adjourned to July 30, where it will be determined if the case moves forward by way of a voluntary bill of indictment or a preliminary inquiry.
