Sir Jack Hayward Soccer Camp adds ‘Skills Extra’ sessions

This year, the Freeport Football Rugby Club is holding its 10th annual soccer camp, from June 17-21, in Freeport, Grand Bahama. The camp, which will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, is supported by the Barclays Premier League as well as the Football Association (FA). It will cater to youngsters between the ages of 6-16.

Many children enjoy coming to the camp each year, they have fun and enjoy learning new skills and improving on old ones as well. Children come from the Family Islands, the United States and Canada to attend the camp. The camp always bring in FA coaches from the United Kingdom. They are full-time youth coaches and each comes with a big reputation. This is one of the best reasons to join but the camp also includes lunch for the children and swimming.

This year, the FA coaches will add ‘Skills Extra’ sessions to the program for children who they believe need an extra challenge within the program. Many of the children have been to numerous camps and the added skill sessions will enhance their skills while still keeping to the values of helping all the players on the focus elements of the camp.

The three FA coaches attending this year are John Scott, Scott Davies and Suzanne Smith.

John Scott is a Level 3 qualified coach and is also a Level 2 goalkeeping coach. Scott Davies is with the Manchester team and is a Level 2 qualified coach. Smith is a Level 3 qualified coach. The youngsters will be able to learn from these three qualified coaches, and enjoy an amazing experience. Organizers are encouraging all youngsters interested in the game of soccer to attend the camp.
