James Catalyn & Friends are at it again
Published: Jun 14, 2013
If it’s the start of summer then you know James Catalyn & Friends are at it again — this time they’re staging the hit play “A Weddin’ Tale".
Theater-goers and patrons of James Catalyn & Friends have been eagerly anticipating the delightfully entertaining theatrical experience, which will be a comedic look at ourselves and take a satirical peep at weddings — Bahamian style.
As usual, “some corns ga' be mashed and bunions stepped on ... maybe even a few noses ga' get out of joint, but Bahamians get to look at deysef and laugh”.
The play, written by Catalyn and directed by Chigozie Ijeoma and Dwain Wallace, runs at the Dundas Centre for The Performing Arts, June 27-29 and July 5-6 with shows at 8 p.m. nightly.
Veteran cast members for this production include Neil Cleare, Antoinette Knowles, Lemorn Miller, Sophia Smith, Brentwood Thompson Jr., Trevann Thompson and Leslie Tynes.
Newcomers to the James Catalyn & Friends’ stage, Christina Adderley, Dion Farquharson, Inderia Green and Tara Woodside have joined the wonderful, wacky bunch.
Tickets can be purchased at the Dundas box office and are $30 reserved seating, $25 general admission. The box office opens 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Telephone numbers are 393-1042 or 394-7179. Reservations may also be made at e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. Reserved tickets not collected by 3 p.m. on the day of performance they have been reserved for will be sold.
