After months of preparation, the Bahamas Galaxy Queens are ready to make their international appearance at the Galaxy International Pageant to compete for the title of Miss Galaxy International.
Aisha Jones, Alexis Dean, Brinika Burrows, Mannisha Charlton and Shante McAlpin are scheduled to participate in the pageant in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, August 3.
“The Bahamas has always been a force to reckon with internationally, and my sister queens and I are proud to be a part of that legacy,” said Miss Bahamas Galaxy 2013 Shante McAlpin.
The focus of the Bahamas Galaxy Pageant is to provide a variety of resources and opportunities to enhance personal and social development for women and young girls. The pageant also affords each contestant the opportunity to grow and advance in her personal and career goals while being a role model in her community.
“We have an amazing team this year,” said Andrea Knott, pageant director for Bahamas Galaxy Pageants. “We have no doubt that our queens will represent The Bahamas well.”
Knott credited her phenomenal committee who assisted with the training and preparation of the queens.
“It’s been such a pleasure watching these young ladies blossom into the queens that they truly are,” said Rissie Demeritte, public relations officer for Bahamas Galaxy Pageants.
