Field announced for 3rd Annual ‘Battle 4 Atlantis’

PARADISE ISLAND, The Bahamas — Eight teams will participate in the 3rd Annual ‘Battle 4 Atlantis’, the richest National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men’s pre-season college basketball tournament. This year’s event is scheduled for November 28-30, 2013.
The pulse-pounding event will be televised live on NBC Sports Network and AXS TV from the 3,900-seat arena at the famed Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island here in The Bahamas. The 2013 field combines teams with 191 NCAA Tournament appearances, 25 Final Four appearances and five National Championships. It features the University of Kansas, Villanova University, the University of Tennessee, the University of Southern California (USC), the University of Iowa, Xavier University, Wake Forest University and the University of Texas at El Paso.
This talented field will battle through a 12-game tournament televised live to sports fans in the US and here in The Bahamas. Starting November 28, AXS TV will air coverage of the tournament at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., while NBC Sports will broadcast the daily 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. games. AXS TV is available on DIRECTV (channel 306), Dish (channel 131), AT&T U-Verse (channel 1106), Verizon FiOS (channel 569) as well as Charter, Comcast Xfinity, Insight, Suddenlink and other television providers.
On November 28, Villanova and USC will lead things off at 1 p.m. on AXS TV. In the second game, Kansas will take on Wake Forest, in the third game, Xavier will battle the University of Iowa, and in the final game of the day, Tennessee will take on the University of Texas at El Paso.
