Bahamian Olympian Andretti Bain, a relatively new business owner here in The Bahamas, knows the importance of sponsorship and supporting athletes as they pursue their athletic dreams.
Bain, the proprietor of ‘Da Bahamian Dream’ Sports and Lifestyle store, has thrown his support behind Ethan Quant, an athlete who was recently selected to represent The Bahamas at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships. Quant is one of 15 Bahamians who will be flexing their muscles and strutting their stuff when the competition gets underway on September 19, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He will represent The Bahamas in men’s physique.
“It is important to give back, to assist as best as you can,” said Bain. “When Ethan first came into the store, he started out as a regular customer, shopping for products to improve himself with his goal of losing weight and staying toned. Over the months, we’ve developed a relationship with him, as well as our other costumers, who are looking or want to live healthy lifestyles. We know it is hard getting financial assistance, especially if you’re just starting out. We’ve assisted others before, but this is our first major sponsorship. We look forward to doing more,” he added.
According to Bain, Quant along with other customers are very impressed with the low prices and the variety of supplements, multivitamins and shakes, that the store provides. No matter the budget, Bain said, a complete month supply of products can be purchased.
He added: “Our products are categorized by lifestyle nutrition, weight loss, whole foods nutrition, sports nutrition, exercise equipment, drinks and healthy snacks. The products include vitamins for the entire family, proteins to lose weight, maintain weight, and/or gain weight or muscle mass, along with fat burners, colon cleansers, detox, energy and recovery supplements. We have sea moss, herbal and vegetarian vitamins and supplements.”
The store, ‘Da Bahamian Dream’ Sports and Lifestyle, located on Farrington Road and George Street, opened on August 25, 2012. It was a dream of Bain, who was aiming for that transition from an athlete to a businessman. The Olympic relay silver medalist holds workout sessions every Wednesday at the store. He is inviting all to come out and burn off some calories.
