Bahamian female professional basketball player Waltiea Rolle played her second game of her pro career last week Wednesday against the Euro League team IMOS. Rolle and her DS Karlin team lost emphatically, 94-48, and Rolle managed just three points and one rebound in about 22 minutes. It was DS Karlin’s first road game of the season after starting the season at home.

Back on their home court for their third game on Friday, Rolle and DS Karlin lost, 73-59, to Valosun Bruno. This time Rolle had a much better outing as she finished with a double-double - 20 points and 13 rebounds in 32 minutes. She added one block to that total. Like her first game, she finished as the top scorer for her team.

DS Karlin, which plays in the female professional basketball league in the Czech Republic, is still looking for its first win of the season.

A fan page for Rolle has been launched on Facebook, dubbed Waltiea Rolle, “Rise of a Legend”. Bahamians are asked to show their support for The Bahamas’ first female professional basketball player, as she represents this country on the international scene. Interested persons are asked to click ‘Like’ and leave an encouraging word before Rolle’s games. This is Rolle’s way of reaching out and staying in touch with her Bahamian family while she competes abroad.
