New downtown restaurant hires 42

There’s a new sports bar and grill located in the heart of downtown that is looking to give its customers the true Bahamian experience by offering mouth-watering delicacies that would leave you wanting more. Operators are confident that Conch N’ Kalik is that place.

Despite opening its doors just over two weeks ago, the restaurant’s manager, Gregory Major, revealed in this week’s edition of Da Plunge that the response has been excellent so far, with the restaurant receiving rave reviews on the food and service.

“We pride ourselves on providing an atmosphere that is different, one that is welcoming and open. I believe it is the combination of our friendly staff and the way the food is prepared and served is what sets us apart from the competition,” he said.

“Through opening Conch N’ Kalik, we want to bring a homegrown flare to Bay Street and a different atmosphere to Pompey Square.”

Like its name would suggest, Major said a great emphasis has been placed on providing the most delicious conch

delicacies. In fact, at Conch N’ Kalik, conch is prepared in 17 different ways. In addition to offering a variety of specialty conch dishes, the restaurant serves Kalik-infused items.

“There are also some fun items on the menu like island-flavored drinks and 100 percent Angus Beef burgers. As a result, we have even been having a few repeat customers,” said Major.

Conch N’ Kalik has 42 employees, including Cacique-Award winning Chef, Donovan Johnson, and Sous Chef, Eunesha Solomon.

Major also confirmed that there are plans to expand the Conch N’ Kalik brand by opening up more locations both in and outside of The Bahamas.

In the meantime, Major is inviting everyone to join them next week Friday for the restaurant’s official opening. Conch N’ Kalik is opened daily from 10:00am-1:00am.
