The Anglican Diocesan Youth Department will be hosting its 8th Annual ‘Just Bring It’ Track and Field Classic on Friday and Saturday, October 25-26, at the old Thomas A. Robinson Track and Field Stadium of the Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre. The meet will be held in honor of former Bahamas Olympic Association (BOA) President Sir Arlington Butler.

The purpose of the event is to provide a time of fun, fellowship, unity and involvement for the entire diocese. This year’s event will begin on Friday at 7 p.m., and will consist of a cultural display, banner contest and a battle of the bands competition. Admission for the event is just $1.

On Saturday, October 26, hundreds of young and ‘not-so-young’ Anglicans will take to the track and field, at 9 a.m., when the competition begins. Gates will open at 8:30 a.m. Admission for the day will be as follows: V.I.P. - $10, adults general - $5, children under 11 years of age - $3.

As in previous years, the meet will be sanctioned by the Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations (BAAA) and the Bahamas Association of Certified Officials (BACO). Athletes participating in the various sporting events will have their times officially recorded. Medals will be presented to the top three finishers in each event. Trophies will also be awarded to the top overall male and female in each age division. Additionally, trophies will be awarded to the overall top three parishes.
