Baha Mar took its recruitment mission to Atlanta, Toronto and Halifax recently, reaching out to 250 Bahamians abroad as it continues its efforts to recruit ahead of its December 2014 launch.
In keeping with its mission as the recruitment and training arm of the luxury resort, Baha Mar Academy has been increasing its efforts to introduce the resort to top Bahamian students and professionals both nationally and internationally, the company stated in a release issued yesterday.
Meetings consisted of networking events and interviews for both full-time positions as well as internships.
Baha Mar Academy met with hundreds of Bahamian in the cities, giving them the message: “Your future could change Bahamian history.”
At the events, the recruiters provided details about Baha Mar and its impact on The Bahamas as well as described characteristics of the ideal candidate and the unique work culture at Baha Mar.
“The response has exceeded our expectations,” remarked Kristin Wells, director of Baha Mar Academy.
“There were many talented and bright Bahamians who are open to returning to The Bahamas and could be a great fit with Baha Mar.”
This year, there have also been presentations to Bahamians in Florida and at several tertiary educational institutions in The Bahamas including The College of The Bahamas and the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI).
Additional presentations are planned for Bahamas Baptist Community College and Omega College, Success Training College and Nova Southeastern University.
Those interested in the resort are advised to stay up-to-date with Baha Mar Academy on Facebook and Twitter @Baha Mar Careers.
