Dear Editor,
I remember the first time I met Craig Rolle. I was in my early years of ministry with the Methodist Church serving as the youth director for The Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands District. The last time I saw Mr. Rolle I was aware that although many years had passed since our first meeting, he remained very much the same. His usual first questions: "How's the church?" "How's the family?" were all there and as before, he usually waited for my response.

I'm only an observer but like Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham I was also not surprised that Branville McCartney resigned as Minister of State for Immigration. It's a pity because Mr. McCartney has promise as a newcomer to the political arena, but there are some lessons he needs to learn.

I can enumerate the serious crimes that have directly impacted many persons I know within the last 60 days, but I am reluctant as it might engender more fear. Suffice it to say that I, like you, no doubt, am wondering: When will our government's resolve to deal with crime match or exceed that of bandits' determination to cause us harm?
