Today marks the seventh anniversary of the death of American R&B singer and actress, Aaliyah Haughton.

Aaliyah died in Abaco in 2001, when the plane she was aboard crashed shortly after take-off, 200 feet from the runway.

She was only 22.

The plane's pilot and six other passengers were also killed.

Aaliyah had just wrapped filming for her 'Rock The Boat' music video. Investigations later revealed that the plane was well beyond the weight and balance allowed.

Aaliyah sold 32 million records worldwide and starred in several movies, including Romeo Must Die and Queen of the Damned.
