Two charged in security guard's murder By ARTESIA DAVIS, Guardian Senior Reporter artesia@nasguard.com Murder squad detectives on Monday charged two men in connection with the August 30th shooting death of 'Cocktails and Dreams' security guard Charles Ferguson. Raphael Neymour, 21, of Dennis Court, Yellow Elder, was charged with Ferguson's murder, while Arthur Cambridge, 22, of Comfort Street, who is alleged to have driven the getaway car, was charged with abetment to murder. Both men were charged with possession of two firearms a 9mm pistol which was loaded with 6 bullets and a 44 special revolver. Neymour and Ferguson were not required to enter pleas at their arraignment before Magistrate Guillimina Archer. They have been remanded to Her Majesty's Prison pending the outcome of a preliminary inquiry into the matters. The inquiry is scheduled to begin December 10. According to police, Neymour was on bail for armed robbery when he is alleged to have committed the offense. Ferguson, a father of four, was on duty at the Cocktails and Dreams club on West Bay Street when he was gunned down. Ferguson had reportedly denied two men in a white Dodge Ram truck access to the club's parking lot. Coincidentally, Ferguson's Pinewood Gardens home was burglarized the night of his murder. And police have charged two men with the armed hold-up of Domino's Pizza on East Bay Street. Gerald Davis, of Kemp Road, and Michael Gardiner, of Danottage Estates and Apache Alley, Kemp Road, are accused of robbing the eatery of $2,392.20 on August 30. The men, both 21, are also charged with having a .40 pistol which was loaded with two bullets. They were not required to plead to the charges. A preliminary inquiry has been scheduled for December 3 before Magistrate Guillimina Archer. Two Haitians are facing drug possession charges and having cash suspected of being connected to criminal activity. Jean Charles Bain, 36, who is also known as Taverne Louis, and Marina Anne Pierre Louis, 26, of Arundel Street, are accused of having three ounces of marijuana with intent to supply and an ounce of cocaine with intent to supply. The pair are also accused of having the proceeds of criminal conduct. Police seized US $40,000 which is suspected of being made from criminal activity. Bain and Louis denied all charges at their arraignment. Magistrate Guillimina Archer remanded Bain until Wednesday when prosecutors will determine his immigration status. Meanwhile, Louis has been granted $15,000 bail with two sureties. Both Bain and Louis return to court for trial on November 28. |
