Metaphysics is the search for truth I was recently invited to be a guest on a radio talk show, and of course I gladly accepted the invitation as I'm always delighted for an opportunity to share knowledge and experiences with people. The Host was most gracious, and as he read through my bio he said "Dr. Reilly, you're a Metaphysician, could you perhaps explain to me and the audience exactly what Metaphysics is all about?". Believe you me, this is a question that I get quite often, so I thought that I'd explain in detail exactly what Metaphysics is, to you my valued readers here today. The word 'Metaphysics' comes from two Greek words 'Meta' and 'Physika' and literally means "Beyond the physical". Metaphysics has of course been taught at leading universities around the globe under the heading of 'Speculative Philosophy' for years. I like to think of 'Metaphysics' as 'Spiritual Philosophy' as it endeavors to answer those age-old questions that just about every citizen of planet earth has pondered deeply at some time in their life. Deep probing questions like "Who am I?", "Where did I come from?", "Why am I presently on planet earth....what is the actual purpose of life?", and "Where do I go when I finally depart this existence on planet earth?". So, that's what 'Metaphysics' is all about. To put it another way, as I have in fact done in the title of this article 'Metaphysics is the search for Truth'. Incidentally, the answers to those probing questions are: #1. I am a 'Child of God', so I came from my Spiritual Father, God who is my 'Source' for everything. #2. The reason I'm here on earth is to complete my God-ordained mission, which is to discover, develop, and share my God-given talents unselfishly with the world and it's people. My mission is to endeavor to make the world a better place. #3. When my mission is complete I will simply return to my 'Source' to be with God forever; there is no death only everlasting life. There's no doubt about it, we're all I believe, in the long run seeking 'The TRUTH', and Metaphysics can indeed assist you with this most worthwhile quest. Incidentally, Dr. Paul Masters President of The International Metaphysical Ministry and The University of Metaphysics gives a great talk each Sunday at 11 A.M. Pacific Time on the internet. This could indeed be an excellent introduction to metaphysics for you.
