Religious leaders receive Global Leadership Award
In what could only be descried as a glamorous and prestigious occasion, local religious leaders and pastors representing a cross section of the nations churches and denominations were presented with the first ever Global Leadership Award. Some twenty-six leaders including heads of the Catholic, Baptist, Anglican, Methodist, Seventh Day Adventist and Prophecy Churches were each presented with a specially designed crystal eagle, representing the soaring, determined and focus attitude that every leader should possess. The award presentation took place during the official opening night of this year's International Third World leadership Summit held at the Diplomat Center on November 11th, 2002. Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas the Hon. Perry G. Christie was on hand to officially present the awards and to offer congratulations to the honorees on behalf of the nation. In addition to the awards distributed locally, four international awards were presented to several international leaders that included Oral Roberts University and City of Faith Founder Dr. Oral Roberts, acclaimed author and teacher Dr. Judson Cornwall, world-renowned motivational speaker Les Brown and former South Africa President Nelson Mandela. The awards were given to local and international religious, civic and national leaders for their contributions to nation building and the advancement of the Kingdom of God.
