Senior citizens are VIP guests of St. Matthew's Church

NASSAU, BAHAMAS: Christmas would not be Christmas unless St. Matthews Day Care Centre throws a party for senior citizens in the community. Recently, seniors associated with various homes in New Providence were treated to a festive outing at the church's grounds located on Church Street.

This Christmas party commenced with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided over by the Right Reverend Michael Eldon. Bishop Eldon set the stage for a fabulous day when he reminded all seniors that there is a place for everyone at the Lord's Table as we are all one in the Holy Spirit. After prayerfully consuming the Body and Blood of Christ in the fellowship meal, a sumptuous Christmas dinner followed.

More than 100 senior citizens smiled as they feasted on a spread of Christmas delights and were afforded the opportunity to dialogue with their peers as they remembered yesteryears. Their royal treatment was not complete until each person left with a Christmas gift, courtesy of the generous donations of the St. Matthew's church family.
