Nu Generation returns with new album release

After a five-year hiatus, Marlin Awards winner Nu Generation is preparing to release its latest recording "Chosen ... and Sent", its first full-length album in almost six years. The album was recorded and produced locally by renowned music producer and engineer Michael 'Sarge' Hanna at his M. City Audio studios. Group members include leader and chief songwriter Anthone Wallace, Anita Knowles, Anthony Gardiner and husband and wife duo Talbot and Yhonnick McKinney.

The project which was recorded over a three year period is the fourth recording from the group who up until recently were all raised and attended Brethren churches here in the capital. Wallace now attends and serves as Minister of music and worship at Calvary Bible Church.

The quintet pranced onto the local gospel music scene back in 1992 with their debut recording "Introducing ... Nu Generation". The group followed this single with another single recording in 1995 entitled "Awesome God" and in 1997 released their first full-length album "The Highest Praise". In 1998 the group won their first Marlin Award for Outstanding Producers of the Year for the Highest Praise CD.

This coming Saturday March 1st, 2003 Nu Generation will release its much anticipated follow up recording "Chosen and Sent". The album release is being hosted in conjunction with the official grand opening of The Oasis Music Center, Nassau's newest and most complete gospel music store. The Oasis Music Center is owned and operated by gospel industry veteran Kevin Harris, who is also the founder of the Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards.

During the grand opening" exercise Nu Generation will sign copies of the new CD as well as give away copies of the album to every 16th buyer. Nu Generation will also use the grand opening as a platform to promote its forthcoming "Sweet Sixteen" concert scheduled for Saturday March 29th.

The group will also participate in a four-hour live radio remote on AM 1240 with well-known radio and concert personality Pastor Vaughn Miller. The remote will broadcast live from the Oasis Music Center located in the Anselm House on Collins Ave, opposite the Columbus Primary School.
