Hip-hop songbird Ta'Da is back and she's taking over Pure Nightlife with an all girls blowout concert on Friday, August 31.

Ta'Da says its time for another show, but not just any showcase, as this one will be an all-girl event, entitled, you got it, "Takin Ova".

"This event is mainly about The Bahamas, and a few of the other females in the industry" Ta'Da said. "And because it's an all female line-up, it won't be all about me. But this will be a different type of performance all together. "I want to get the Bahamian people more involved. I don't want to say that they're not interested or don't care, but there are a lot of people who have not listened to me or any of the other performers. I want them to know who we are.

"And I want to put it out there that we are working hard to put ourselves, our talents and music on the map. We have a lot of talent here locally, and its not just for rake 'n srcape. "We have quite a few really good hip-hop singers that can compete with the Rihanna's, but the best way to do that is to support us and get to know our artists."

If you plan to attend the affair, you should remember that doors

will open at 8:30 p.m. and at 9 p.m. A mix-and-mingle is planned, at which time an audio-visual presentation of her past performances will be shown, with the stage show getting underway at 10 p.m. with live bands.

Also on the card will be Believe, Skyy, Lady Millz, Sheki & 21.

"It's a really Bahamian-ladies showcase," she said. "All around town you have the men doing stuff; but that night it's all about us — the ladies."

Some songs you can expec her perform are: "TaDa" and an all-time favorite "Dangerous" from her latest and past albums. However, the public is in for a surprise as TaDa will also be singing a few new tunes from her two up-coming albums.

The 27-year-old has opened for a number of well-known artists including Bow Wow, Carl Thomas, and BeBe Winans.

Although she has also appeared on the 2002 "Honey Drops" compilation CD released in by Universal Music Canada/Phem Phat Productions, and has her music videos airing on both MTV's Tempo and Much Music television. Ta'Da maintains that its still all about the home-base.

"Right now I'm working on two albums," she said. "One's somewhat urban and the other more hip-hop. But I will be singing a few of my new songs at the event; so those that attend will be some of the first to hear them, as they're not in the public as yet."

Tickets which are $20 in advance and $25 at the door, are now available at The Jukebox, Logos Bookstore, Alpha Sounds and The National Art Gallery. Also check out www.tadalive.com for more information on the event.
