By D. Paul Reilly As I commence writing this particular article, I am reminded of what Dr. Napoleon Hill once said, "What the mind of man can CONCEIVE and BELIEVE, it can ACHIEVE." What mighty power there is in that well known saying. Dr. Wayne Dyer puts it like this, "Believing is Seeing," and Dr. Norman Vincent Peale said "When you change your THINKING, you change your LIFE." My Friend, outlined in the title of today's article is a foolproof formula for success, for literally anyone who wishes to apply it to their daily life. One of the most effective methods used to assist people in achieving their goals, is the use of Affirmations. Affirmations in order to be effective should be structured in the first person and present tense. For example: Let's say that a person has set a goal to lose twenty pounds in weight, as they now weigh two hundred pounds, and are thus overweight for his or her actual height. The Affirmation to assist the person in achieving this particular goal would be worded as follows, 'I am a slim, trim one hundred and eighty pounds.' So, we SAY IT! However, there's another most important element that simply MUST come into play, and that's TOTAL BELIEF in what we're saying as we state our Affirmation. Now, on the matter of Belief, it must be TOTAL or 100%. If there is any element of doubt when we are stating our Affirmation, however minute, it will not work, for in effect we obviously don't Totally Believe what we're saying. So we SAY IT, we state what our goal is through the use of correctly structured Affirmations, and we TOTALLY BELIEVE, that this goal will materialise in our life. However, now the third element in our formula for success MUST come into play, and that is DO IT! We will never lose the unwanted pounds if we don't put a plan into ACTION, which will ensure the success of the goal. In other words, we immediately enroll at the gym and commence a regular exercise programme, and we start eating healthy. In other words, we DO what needs to be done to make our goal, our dream become reality. So My Friend, what lofty goals, what great dreams do you have for your future? Once you have established a series of goals and objectives, it's the first Stepping Stone, so to speak, on the road to success. Having established a series of Specific Goals, both short and long range, for all areas of your life, you then need to structure a series of Affirmations for each goal. Remember, first person present tense, as if the goal had already been achieved. Then you need to get your Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) in top gear so that you Totally Believe, lOO% that you will achieve all of your goals, one by one. Finally, you need to draw up a detailed 'Plan of Action' for each of your goals. This plan will encompass exactly what you need to do to make each goal become reality. Once the plan has been established, you must spring into ACTION, and simply 'Work the Plan.' So there you have it My Friend, a workable formula for success, 'Say it! Believe it! Do it!'
