BY D. PAUL REILLY:
There's no doubt about it, we need to at all times, take the very sound advice given in the title of this article and thus 'Keep things in Perspective'. So, what exactly do we mean by that statement? Well, to me 'Keeping things in perspective' means, that we always remain level headed and balanced, thus we do not allow any aspect of our life to get us down, or for that matter, go to our head. One of the things which we really need to keep in perspective, is that life consists of much more than the material.
In other words, far too many people, it appears to me, get completely caught up with money and the purely material things of life, cars, houses, boats, etc. whilst at the same time totally forgetting, or deliberately avoiding the most important things in life, like love of family and friends, peace of mind, a walk along the beach, and the sublime joy one gets from participating in Spiritual Practices, like prayer, meditation, or reading uplifting spiritually-based literature.
Oh yes, it's good to have money and all of the 'Things' which we can acquire with it, and I might add there's absolutely nothing whatsoever wrong with having a whole lot of money; however, it's most important for us to also have the many wonderful things which no amount of money can ever buy, like inner peace, happiness, contentment, and wonderful friends. Yes indeed, let's endeavor to at all times 'Keep things in perspective'.
Of course, when things go wrong in our life at times, and the sky seems be literally falling in on us; this too is indeed a most important time us to quietly go INWARD to be with our Spiritual Father, God, and reflect on what life is really all about....indeed, this too is a time to quite definitely 'Keep things in perspective'. I can assure my most valued readers, that things are never, ever as bad as they seem, and even when we're passing through very stressful situations, when we perhaps get into financial difficulties for example, we are never alone for God is with us, actually to be more correct, WITHIN us at all times.
Yes My Friend, when we get into the sensible habit of always and times 'Keeping things in perspective', it will assist us in keeping things which are happening in our life in balance, which is obviously a very sensible thing to do. Yes My Friend, as 'The Teachings of Buddha' tells us most clearly, 'Balance' in all that we do is most important to living the good life.
