Meet Darren Darville - Bahamian Software Designer of "The Workshop"
GUARDIAN STAFF REPORTER At a time when the nation stands ardently concerned about the future of young men in this country, one young Bahamian man gives us hope.
At 25, Darren Darville is not sitting on the blocks, sitting in a prison cell, nor is he sitting in the seat of the scornful. With ambition to burn, Darren is on a course that could lead him to retirement by age 30. It seems his adrenaline never runs out as he launches into the deep, taking on project after project, embarking upon venture after venture. A graduate of Bahamas Academy, Darren furthered his education at the Columbia Union College and the University of Maryland where he earned a BA in computer science information systems. Since graduating, this young entrepreneur has created a reputation of distinction in the world of technology. He has designed training software for MCI, and SAC Communications. He also designed web sites for a number of companies in the United States and the Bahamas. In the U.S., Darren formed a company called Technology Solutions (http://www.technology-solution.net) which offers many services: Biometric Integration, Home Automation, Networking, Web Site Design, Programming, Software Design, Database Design and Mobile Data Integration. " By starting my company, I came in contact with many different entrepreneurs that helped me expand my repertoire as professional in the field. I met a guy by the name of Joel Gardner who helped me fine tune my business skills. I worked with him on various big projects, some of which I am not at liberty to mention," said Darren. Since returning to Nassau in July, he opened a similar company called ITS Concepts and is presently doing contract work for numerous businesses in the Bahamas and abroad. He will also be launching a major company projects in the first quarter of 2004. But he remains tightlipped about this venture. We will just have to wait and see, and expect great things from this great, young Bahamian.
