Incumbent president Jeff Francis was returned unopposed Monday night as well as two of his executives of the New Providence Amateur Baseball League. The only new member of his team was treasurer Danny Stubbs who took over for Chavez Thompson.

Dion Forsythe was returned unopposed as Vice President as was Jeannie Scavella in the secretary's spot. Francis said that he feels confident that the team he has to work with can get the job done and improve on some of the things they started in the last term. He also welcomed new treasurer Danny Stubbs on board.

"Right now, we plan to have an executive meeting sometime next week, and a general meeting sometime during the third week in February," he said. "We really just want to improve on what we started during the last term. We might have to cut the season short because of the uncertainty of the facilities and because of the fast-approaching Commonwealth Championships. Hopefully, we can speed it up instead of cutting it short and still make the Commonwealth Championships." The season is expected to get underway sometime next month while the Bahamas Games are tentatively scheduled for early July and the Commonwealth Championships for the second week in August in the nation's second city, Freeport, Grand Bahama.

"We really want to finish the season before the start of the Bahamas Games and the Commonwealth Championships. Hopefully, the college players will still

be around by then so they can take part in the playoffs and championships," said Francis. The non-participation of collegians in the postseason has always been one of the shortcomings of the league as the season normally carries over into the Fall semester. However, Francis said that they are really looking forward to rectifying that problem this year.

Bahamas Baseball Feder-ation's Vice President, Teddy Sweeting, said that he is looking forward to a major meeting between all of their affiliate associations in short order. Sweeting said that as a federation they are moving forward with the future of baseball in this country.
