Student's alleged near abduction being probed by police, school By Staff Reporter ~ Guardian News Desk: Administrators at Queen's College said yesterday they have launched an investigation into recent allegations made by a parent who said her son was nearly abducted from the Village Road campus. According to a press release issued by the chairman of the Board of Governors and the principal of Queen's College, school executives were made aware of the alleged incident on Tuesday. The release said a parent of one of the primary school students reported that a man attempted to abduct her son from the school's campus. The Nassau Guardian understands that police have launched an investigation into the allegation. The press release added that Queen's College administration also launched an investigation immediately after the matter was reported to police. "We do not treat such matter lightly and wish to assure the child, his parents and the family of our deep concern," said the Queen's College statement. "We further assure them and all parents, teachers and staff of our continued commitment to ensuring the safety of everyone on our campus." School officials said they are cooperating fully with the police in determining the facts surrounding the alleged abduction attempt. Saturday January 23, 2010
